Ready, Set, DROP!
Some of the best and brightest students at Bud Carson Middle School have been busy dropping eggs, playing with sticks, and throwing objects and they didn't even get into trouble. Why, because these students are preparing for serious competition! Math, Engineering, Science, Achievement (MESA) students are working tirelessly as they prepare to compete this March at USC.
Led by two inspirational teachers, Mr. LeBouf and Ms. Shintani, the MESA students are working after school several days a week on a variety of projects. Students are preparing for project-based competitions in several categories including; Manila Mechanics, Egg Drop, Balsawood Glider, and the Mousetrap Car. BCMS students will also compete in a solo math competition and team math competition. Top winners of each competition will go on to compete in the MESA Day Regional Finals at Cal State LA this April. MESA students are up for the challenge and will represent BCMS well.
