Study Tips

Study Tips.jpgChildren need good study skills in order to complete assignments successfully and gain the most from them academically. Below is a list of study skills middle school students should use as they prepare for high school.

1.  Setting a regular time to study that fits in with the student's family schedule

2.  Removing distractions (turning off the television and discouraging social phone calls during homework time)

3.  Gathering necessary supplies

4.  Recording assignments in an assignment book or on a calendar

5.  Note-taking; managing time

6. Organizing for a test.

Students need to review these study skills in middle school to be prepared for high school.

Family Math Night Fun

Families came together for a night of enjoyable math activities that enhance student learning both in

school and at home. Thank you for attending. We look forward to seeing more families at our  upcoming literacy night in February.

Students did an "unbee-lievable" job at our sixth-grade spelling bee.

And...the spelling bee winners are...

1st Place: Ibrahim Yusuf from Ms. Pech's class

2nd Place: Damilola Ikilo from Mrs. Mische's class

Thank you to all the sixth grade teachers and judges across grade levels who helped support students, and all the students and parents who studied so much together.  A special thank you to Ms. Henry for planning and executing a great spelling bee.
